Ocellivision

Intraoperative Pathology Microscope

Ocellivision has revolutionized intraoperative tissue assessment with our OPAL microscope. Our UV microscope uses FUSE technology to provide high-resolution images of the surfaces of thick tissue samples in intraoperative, allowing for quicker decision-making and improved patient outcomes.

Fast

OPAL is quick, taking half as long as a single frozen section. Our workflow can be easily parallelized, improving the speedup for batches.

Accurate

No freezing means no freezing artifacts. Expect undistorted images without tearing or ice crystals.

Seamless

With a fully digital workflow and a tiny footprint, OPAL can be placed in the procedure room and accessed remotely by pathologists.

Evaluate surgical margins or sampled tissue in realtime without freezing and sectioning. We replace that with Deep UV Light to directly image the superficial layer of fresh-cut tissue. The result is a beautiful image without freezing artifacts, allowing for unfettered interpretation and quick, accurate, judgement.

Streamlined workflows

Our microscope greatly optimizes your workflow by simplifying tissue preparation, allowing pathologists to focus on interpretation.

Prepare samples without specially-trained pathology technicians. Our stains are engineered to work well over broad times and temperatures and requires no special handling. Samples are mounted in easy-to-use cassettes using only basic tissue-handling techniques. This can be done by regular nurses (with only a little extra training.)

Tissue preparation in parallel saves time processing batches. Staining and mounting is not limited by a specialty machine. When the surgical team sends you many sections at once, you can easily process them in parallel.

Best-in-class remote pathology suite

Deliver accurate and quick diagnoses without being in the same room as the sample.

Our microscope fits anywhere. With a footprint of only 30×30 cm, and 60cm tall, our microscope can be placed in the OT itself, in a closet down the hall, in a biosafety cabinet, or even in the trunk of a car.

Log in from anywhere and interact with samples as though you are in front of them. Whether you are down the hall, in a different building, or even at home, you can operate our microscope through a web browser.

Our Technology - FUSE

Our Illuminator

OPAL uses FUSE technology to directly image the superficial layer of fresh-cut tissue. The result is a beautiful image without freezing artifacts, allowing for unfettered interpretation and quick, accurate, judgement. We achieve this with our patented UV illuminator and our proprietary chemical probes. Read More about FUSE »
